CURROW HILL RANCH

Natural Colored Sheep

our brown flockOur colored sheep first came to us from a neighbor who bred these sheep for their brown color. The parent ram was a California Variegated Mutant and the ewe was a Lincoln Finn cross. Both of these sheep had genetics for color and this small flock was started.

We have since brought black and gray colors into the flock.

They have wonderful fine fleece which is much like that of the Romeldale and California Variegated Mutant.

The colors of these sheep are now cream, moorit, chocolate, silver, black, and spotted.  Some of the sheep have CVM coloration, which results from using CVM rams for breeding our ewes.

This year, we purchased a slate gray, spotted, merino ram.  He will add his fine wool quality to this flock and I will also breed him to my small group of white Romney ewes to similate the original Romeldale cross.
