Our ranch is in North Eastern California, 1-1/2 hours East of Redding, 1-1/2 hoursNorth West of Susanville, and 2 hours South of Klamath Falls, Oregon.

We are at an elevation of 3,300 feet and are in a high desert valley. This means that our normal rainfall is about 18 inches. Snowfall does not accumulate deeper than three or four inches.

Winter starts early, in October or November, and continues until sometime around March. Our Winter temperatures can drop down into the 'teens'. This is the time to settle down to the woodstove and enjpy indoor activities.

Spring is worth waiting  when it brings us warmer temperatures, new lambs, and Spring flowers.

Our Summers are warm and in the high 80's and 90's. This is the time to irrigate, bring in the crops and try to find time to enjoy our gardens and the outdoors.

Fall can be short, or long, depending when the cold weather starts. It marks the end of kitchen gardens and reminds us to finish up our outside work before the snow falls.
